The most iconic products Greta M. Grossman designed in the 1940’s and 1950’s were the Gräshoppa floor lamp and the Cobra floor and table lamp. What makes the Grossman designs most interesting is their sophisticated, yet playful design; the pieces exhibit a whimsical form that is both organic and modern.

The iconic Gräshoppa lamp, first produced in 1947, gives with its unique stance the impression that the lamp is somehow alive and stalking its prey. The classic Cobra lamp from 1950 was given its name because of its oval shade, which is reminiscent of a Cobra’s neck. One of the more unknown design of Grossman is the G10 collection, also designed in 1950. It is characterized by its distinctive lampshade, giving the space a pleasant light, as well as its rough surface and contrasting polished brass details, which are all defining the lamp’s unique look

The iconic Gräshoppa Floor Lamp was first produced in 1947 by the feminine pioneer Greta M. Grossman. The unique tripod stand of the Gräshoppa Floor Lamp is tilted backward and gives the impression that the lamp is somehow alive and stalking its prey. Being one of Grossman’s most iconic designs, the authentic lamp has an elongated conical shade that rotates to direct light where needed.
