This barstool is based on the traditional shapes of model No. 16. A backrest is filled with a manually bent heart-shaped detail. This gives the interior a fine and more intimate atmosphere. The seat can be decorated with different types of reliefs.

Michael Thonet (1796-1871), born in Germany, was a designer specialising in ‘bentwood'. Thonet and his sons set up a bentwood furniture factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in 1861.  In 1876, Chair No. 18 - one of the first models which was produced here and is still a part of our portfolio today.
